Morganne & Corey

Corey and Morganne met at Kutztown University in 2017. They were part of two different friend groups that combined after a mutual connection. The group quickly became inseparable and spent a lot of time together. It took Corey and Morganne a while to figure out their feelings for each other and they didn’t start dating until October of 2018. Their first date was at Texas Roadhouse. During their time at KU, they spent a lot of time making memories together. They enjoyed a few snow days on campus, and played lots of volleyball together. 

In January of 2020, Corey moved to Maryland after graduating from KU. He accepted a job as a Project Manager at MITC in Frederick. Unfortunately, COVID 19 hit shortly after Corey’s move and their world turned upside down for a while. Corey began working remotely from his apartment. Morganne’s time at Kutztown University was cut short and she moved back home to New Jersey to complete the rest of her senior year virtually. There were less visits then the couple had planned but they had lots of virtual dates. Corey adopted his first cat, Edith, that year. 

Morganne moved to Maryland with her cat Melody after graduating from KU in the spring of 2020. She accepted a job as an Itinerant Teacher of the Visually Impaired in Montgomery County. Morganne started her career by teaching the visually impaired virtually through Zoom which had its challenges. She didn’t begin teaching in person until March of 2021. In 2021, the couple moved into their first apartment together with their two cats, Edith and Melody. The couple has lived in the same apartment ever since. 

In March of 2023, Edith unexpectedly passed away. Her passing was a devastating time for Corey but this heartbreak brought the couple closer together. In April of 2023, they adopted a tortoiseshell cat named Lily. Lily’s energetic personality brought lots of life into their apartment. In July 2023, the couple said goodbye to Morganne’s cat Melody. Morganne and Melody were together for 16 years after Morganne won a bet with her dad in elementary school. This loss coming so soon after losing Edith was very trying on the couple. In December of 2023,  after seeing Lily without a companion for 6 months, they adopted a gray fluff ball named Miss Bella. In June of 2024, Morganne resigned from her teaching position and accepted a job as a Project Manager at MITC. 

On October 2nd, 2024 Corey got down on one knee at Black Creek Regional Park and asked Morganne to marry him. Morganne would love to say that she didn’t have any idea he was going to ask when he did but Corey had been too excited and accidentally hinted at it.
